We are excited to welcome our new Music Director, Michael Joseph, who begins with us on August 27th.

Michael Joseph was born in Worcester, and took full advantage of the acclaimed environment there, and received his foundational training in music. He earned his Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Theory and Composition from the University of New Hampshire in 1977. His major instrument was the Organ. He went on to earn a Master of Science Degree in Music Education, also from UNH, in 1984.

Michael resided in New Hampshire for forty-four years, where he was employed as a director of music for several large churches and served as a music teacher in public schools. From 2008 until 2015, Michael was a member of the Adjunct Music Faculty at Rivier College in Nashua. Most recently, he has been the organist for First Parish, Unitarian Universalist in Billerica and as an interim organist/choir director at St. Joseph Church in Salem, NH. He has nearly thirty of his compositions for the organ published by various music publishing houses.

Michael remains active in various politically progressive organization, has actively demonstrated for immigrant and refugee rights, equality issues and was instrumental in helping the recent Trans Rights Bill, the missing piece in the six New England puzzle pieces, to pass in New Hampshire.

He has also given numerous organ recitals in the New England Region.
