Malden Reads: They Called Us Enemy

Join First Parish in Malden for our annual service in collaboration with Malden Reads! The service will explore the themes of this year’s Malden Reads book selection, “They Called Us Enemy,” George Takei’s graphic memoir about his childhood experience in Japanese internment camps during World War II. You do not have to have read the book to attend and understand – though we encourage you to do so! Children are always welcome in our services, and childcare is also provided. Following the service, an in-person book discussion will take place at noon.

We will have All Ages Children’s Chapel this Sunday, which will be on the Malden Reads book theme of reflecting on Japanese internment. Childcare will be available this Sunday for children up to the age of 6 in the nursery. Adult choir will rehearse at 9:35, and children are welcome at 10am for children’s/multigenerational music. Childcare available starting at 9:45 for parents attending adult choir rehearsal. No performances during worship.

Join us in person in the sanctuary or online on Zoom. The link to join will be sent to this newsletter on Sunday morning. Please fill out this form to get the link: http://eepurl.com/cfXGe9
